Award winning mouse

Balloon sculpture instructions — Twisted Mind CD-ROM

Award winning mouse

This little mouse has won me the dutch championship 2000 in the category small. It's a variation of the Christmas Mouse from Patrick Brown (instructions are in his book Simply Amazing, try it, his mouse is actually lots and lots better). It's stripped down from it's christmas accessories and the candy stick in it's hands is replaced with a filled egg. What I love about this figure is that this small figure uses such a variety of different sized balloons.

Balloons needed: 1 × 260Q gray  |  1 × 260Q diamond clear  |  1 × 321Q red  |  1 × 350Q onyx black  |  1 × 350Q citrine yellow  |  1 × 160Q ruby red  |  1 × 160Q onyx black  |  1 × 160Q quartz purple
  1. 1 From a black 160Q make 2 small balls, and an inflated tip with a short tail. tie a knot also at the end of the tail.
    Step 1
  2. 2 Inflate the clear and gray 260. Marriage twist the inflated black 160Q tip to the gray, and insert the 2 small balls inside the clear.
    Step 2
  3. 3 Make a standard 5 bubble teddy bear head. Make sure bubble 1 and 5 are quite small.
    Step 3
  4. 4 Pinchtwist the ears
    Step 4
  5. 5 Twist clear balloon in half and attach it under the nose. Tie to the ears to put the eyes into place.
    Step 5
  6. 6 Deflate rest of gray 260Q, tie a knot about 2 inch below the nose. Cut off remained after the knot.
    Step 6
  7. 7 Use that knot to marriage twist the mouse head onto the red 321Q.

  9. 9 Make a stand alone double pinch twist from the black 350Q.
    Step 9
  10. 10 Twist of the tail of the 321Q and insert the double pinch twist there creating the feet and tail.
    Step 10
  11. 11 inflate the red 160, make a loop and twist that loop in half.
    Step 11
  12. 12 Insert between the bubble from the marriage twist.
    Step 12
  13. 13 Add a stand alone double pinch twist made from the gray balloon at the front of the arms forming hands. This finishes up the mouse.
    Step 13
  14. 14 Make a tiny teddybear from a purple 160Q that will fit inside a 350Q. Inflate the yellow 350Q from the back, make a bubble a little larger then the teddybear.
    Step 14
  15. 15 Push the teddybear inside the yellow 350Q, head first.
    Step 15

    Step 17 ▶ video
  18. 18 Inflate the 350Q again, tie off. You will end up with a bear inside the bubble.
    Step 18
  19. 19 Put that bubble in the arms of the mouse, and there you have it. An award winning mouse. Thanks again Patrick for giving me the base of this mouse and I urge everyone to buy his book Simply Amazing if you are interested in top of the line, detailed, balloon designs.
