Blowing up a balloon

Balloon sculpture instructions — Twisted Mind CD-ROM

Blowing up a balloon

If you want to twist, you kinda need air in the balloon. You either have a choice of mouth inflating or using a pump. Blowing balloons by mouth isn't exactly the best thing you can do for your body. Pumps, they are great. Don't run out of air as much as you do. And it's a lot more healthier.

Balloons needed: Any balloon.
  1. 1 The bigger and weaker the balloon, the easier it is to blow up. large rounds take a lot of puffs but are easy. Smaller balloons require more pressure. The most difficult thing is to get it started. I sort of whistle without the sound to get the more difficult balloon started. It's like pumping the air in your mouth inside the balloon using your tongue.

  2. 2 Don't puff your lungs out till you drop red faced on the floor. For me, training with larger balloons and each time trying out smaller balloons worked the best for me. Pre inflating also helps.

  3. 3 Starting those 160's is very difficult. When I am "out of super duper air" I suck a bubble at the nozzle end then continue to inflate from there. This video shows you how. I learned this from Sean Rooney.

I don't know if this is the thing to do in front of an audience, I guess a pump is preferred then.

  4. 4 Flash inflating is a very fast and easy way to inflate balloons. Spread the mouth open like shown on the picture, put it on your lips and BLOW! It's easier then normal inflating, but it's hard to control the amount of air you put inside the balloon.
