Dog face

Balloon sculpture instructions — Twisted Mind CD-ROM

Dog face

Woof woof. A doggy, who in the balloon world hasn't made a doggy. This mask will turn your audience into a dog! Try to make one in orange with black ears, it looks like a very popular cartoon dog that way.

Balloons needed: 1 × 260Q white  |  1 × 260Q onyx black  |  2 × 350Q coconut brown  |  1 × 350Q white  |  1 × 350Q diamond clear  |  1 × 350Q ruby red  |  1 × 160Q ruby red
  1. 1 Make 2 balls from the 260Q black as pupils for the dog eyes.
    Step 1
  2. 2 Inflate the diamond clear 350Q from the end.
    Step 2
  3. 3 Insert the 2 balls.
    Step 3
  4. 4 Like this.
    Step 4
  5. 5 Pop outer bubble.
    Step 5 ▶ video
  6. 6 Inflate diamond clear 350Q again, make 2 bubbles, each containing one ball, and tie bubbles together.

Note, if you make the balls small enough and you got enough practice you can just insert the balls through the neck of the clear 350Q.
    Step 6
  7. 7 Inflate the white 260Q leaving a short tail. Make a pinch twist at the knot end.
    Step 7
  8. 8 Loop it to fit around a persons head. If you make it fairly large and squeeze the back together it will be an "one size fits all" hat.
    Step 8
  9. 9 Push the pinch twist between the top of the eyes.
    Step 9
  10. 10 Make a small loop from the ruby red 160Q.
    Step 10
  11. 11 Inflate the ruby red 350Q from the back a little longer then the 160Q loop.
    Step 11
  12. 12 Push the loop inside the 350Q.
    Step 12
  13. 13 Like this.
    Step 13
  14. 14 Pop outer bubble from 350Q.
    Step 14 ▶ video
  15. 15 What you have now is a little wrinkled. Inflate 350Q again.
    Step 15
  16. 16 Get the 160Q loop inside the 350Q "free", and carefully deflate 350Q again, so the 350Q does not look wrinkled anymore.
    Step 16
  17. 17 You can see here it's now become a flat shaped balloon. This will be the tongue.
    Step 17
  18. 18 Inflate 350Q leaving a tail like this.
    Step 18
  19. 19 Tie white and the tongue you made together.
    Step 19
  20. 20 Insert between the bottom of the eyes.
    Step 20
  21. 21 Make 2 large bubbles to form the top of the mouth.
    Step 21
  22. 22 And lock together.
    Step 22
  23. 23 Add 2 pinch twists as the back.
    Step 23
  24. 24 Followed by a small bubble, a loop twist, and another small bubble.
    Step 24
  25. 25 Make a large stand alone hooktwist from coconut brown 350Q. I use a balloon straw to be able to do this fast and easy.
    Step 25
  26. 26 Repeat this with the 2nd coconut brown 350Q.
    Step 26
  27. 27 Lock them together.
    Step 27
  28. 28 And deflate and cut of the remainder.
    Step 28
  29. 29 From the tail of one of the 350Q make a bubble to form the nose.
    Step 29
  30. 30 Insert the 2 stand alone hooktwists at the top of the eyes.
    Step 30
  31. 31 Tie the nose the front.
    Step 31
  32. 32 And there you have a dogface!
    Step 32
